Microbiological Testing

Microbiological Testing

Microbiological analysis of food products is the use of biological, biochemical, molecular or chemical methods to identify, identify, or enumerate microorganisms in a material (such as a food, beverage, environmental or clinical sample). It is often applied to disease-causing and spoilage microorganisms.

Microbiological Testing Heisenberg

Final product testing is an important part of any food manufacturing control strategy. In products in which microorganisms can survive and grow, routine microbiological analysis is important to confirm that manufacturing control mechanisms are in effect. It is also required for quality checks of raw materials (eg to confirm that they are within specification), or to investigate customer complaints.

We perform a wide range of tests covering pathogens, spoilage organisms and indicator organisms (those that, although not a problem in themselves, may indicate that there is a potential or hidden problem). We can also identify unknown microorganisms, and classify them in a specific strain, and advise on the latest rapid methods. All of this takes place in our purpose-built laboratory suite, which provides excellent separation of activities and the highest standards of laboratory practice.

If you have your own microbiological testing facilities, our new Campden Microbiology Proficiency Plan will help you assess how well your laboratory analyzes are doing.
